I’ve ridden in the New Orleans Elks parade on Mardi Gras day every year since I was 13 years old.  There’s always the last minute scramble to let people know I’m riding, to tell them where I’m standing, and make sure to look out for them on the route.  Even then, it doesn’t always work and we may end up missing each other.

Now it’s even worse trying to relay information because there’s my son’s Pre-K class to think about as well as all the little dancers at my studio.  I can post on Facebook to get some of the parents to know, but the message doesn’t reach the kids, things get busy on Mardi Gras day, and people forget.  I totally get that one…it’s happened to me more than once.

I saw little rider cards in a cute shop in town, and I thought they were such a great idea!  But those rider cards are printed on card stock and cost a little more than I’d like to spend, so I decided to come up with my own.  They have everything you need to know, including name of the parade, float number, and riding position.  All you need to do is print, fill out, and have on hand when people ask you if you’re riding or not.  Get it right here: Parade Rider Cards FREE Printable

I’ll be out of town this Mardi Gras (Disney World, yay!), but I’ll be using these cards next year for sure!  What are you most looking forward to for Mardi Gras this year?
