Let me preface this by saying that I hate try-ons. I don’t like going into the dressing room because I get sweaty, and it feels like the rooms are almost always too small. But I also end up with far less to return if I go into the dressing room to get it over with. So for this Spring Try-On, I went into Walmart and decided to bear with it.

So maybe try-ons are where it’s at? When I filmed this back in March, I never would have known that all fitting rooms would be closed down for what’s going on 6 weeks…maybe I should have squeezed in a couple more fitting room sessions, eh?

Here are a few of the items I purchased – the wins:

Walmart Spring Try-On Madewell Dupe
This Shirt is comfy and comes in a few colors/patterns!
Walmart Spring Try-On

This particular kimono is sold out, but there are so many different options like this one and this one. I love the knotted tee look with it too!

Walmart Spring floral dress try-on

This is a breezy, floral wrap dress that was actually long enough for my big ole booty. With some fun wedges, this could really be a fun option for Mother’s Day (or a girls’ night out once social distancing is a thing in the …. well, the distance). It comes in a bunch of colors and is under $20!

Now for the failures – items I didn’t purchase:

Walmart Plus Striped paper bag waist pants

I got a lot of compliments on these pants in my Instagram stories, and they were very comfortable. It was a no-go for me because of where they hit my waist and the fact that the vertical stripes were more like loopy lines.

Walmart Floral High Low Jersey Dress

While it hit my waist well and seemed to fit pretty well too, this dress was thin and short. All I could think of was Thomas running up and giving everyone around me a peep show. It could be an awesome swim cover up though!

Walmart Cropped Tie Front Shirt

I’m not a fan of cropped shirts in general, but this one didn’t look THAT cropped…until I put it on. Woof. It wasn’t flattering on my body at all. I also like to try on jeans to see if anything can compare to my favorite American Eagle jeans (that I shared here) and these still didn’t measure up. There was gapping by the butt (which is always the problem) and I had a hard time getting them all the way up in my crotch. The crotch part is a for sure no go because with this New Orleans heat, that’s a recipe for all kinds of problems down there. No thanks. Not today, not ever.

And that’s about it for this spring try-on session.

I’ve worn that first shirt and that kimono many times. They’re great staples for throwing on to go anywhere or do just about anything. During quarantine, I have tried to get dressed every day, do my makeup, and try to feel like a normal human…whatever that means in this crazy time.

Did you purchase anything from walmart recently that you love? If you want to see the whole spring try-on, I have it saved to my Instagram stories!
